COCC Winter 2024

During Winter of 2024, I’ll be back at COCC teaching:

I DISSENT: RBG and the Intersection of Art + Activism

This course is an engaging overview of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's most famous dissents and their applicability in regard to the current events of the Voting Rights Act, Equal Pay, Roe v. Wade and Dobbs, and more. After a broad overview of the caselaw, students conclude the course by creating a piece of art, using a medium of their choice.

COCC Fall 2023

During Fall 2023 Semester, I’ll be back at COCC teaching another course steeped in equity and art!

Course: USWNT's Fight: Equal Play, Equal Pay and The True Cost of Equality

Description: Explore the evolution of equal pay with the Equal Pay Act, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, Oregon's pay equity laws, and the recent wave of Pay Transparency legislation. The class will explore the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team lawsuit - one of the most publicized gender discrimination class action cases in history, and will include a viewing of the movie, "LFG". Students will conclude the course by creating a piece of art, using a medium of their choice.
